1. How to get an analysis: to get an analysis, you simple write us a mail containing some keywords sorted by decreasing importance. Having this, we look up these keywords in title and abstract of EP- and US-patents. After that we tell you how much patents you will get when using a certain combination of keywords. Notice: the more keywords you use, the less patents you will get.

2. How to use an analysis: the way you use an analysis depends on the prior knowledge you have.

2.1. In case you don“t have any prior knowledge one possibility is to start with "Frequencies". Have a look at the wordlist to decide, which words might be interested. Knowing this you can have a look at NGRAMS and ASSOCIATIONS to see, if any of the words you are interested in is combined with others. After that you are able to SEARCH for these words and see, which documents you should look at. Last but not least you can used CLUSTER HEATMAP to see, which documents are in the neighbourhood regarding content. As a second alternative you can start with TOPICS to get an impression about what kind of topics are hidden in the document collection. If you ordered GRAPHS you are able to see which of the documents is more or less powerful connected to which keyword of a certain topic. PROFILES, DIFFERENCES and TIME DEPENDENCIES can be done as a second step.

2.2. In case you already have prior knowledge you should use SEARCH to look for words you are interested in. Use NGRAMS and ASSOCIATIONS as before to see if your words are combined with others. Find documents containing any combination of words which is of interest for you. Use CLUSTER HEATMAP to see, which documents are in the neighbourhood regarding content. Use approach 2.1. to be sure that there is nothing further which might be of interest for you.
